WELCOME IN THE OCEAN

Well you have decided to start your first underwater base with the MeduSea Company. Here, you will find some instructions and tips to start your colony without issues.

Don't forget building an underwater base will ask for an important amount of resources like cobblestone, stone brick and also copper and prismarine when the buildings are upgraded. So, if you are not patient, MeduSea will do without your services. Else welcome in the enterprise.

The style owns some inter-dependents buildings, let us explain. For example, the university will ask you for some meshes while upgrading at level 3, so you have to plan to build a sifter before upgrading the university. Other buildings are concerned too, so be aware when you upgrade buildings, to be sure you have all the workers needed to upgrade these buildings.

HOW TO START?

When you place the supply ship you will find under it the townhall and the builder structure. You will just have to put the hut’s block (in the right way) where the signs are. As you can see on the following image the central piece of the town hall is for the player. You can put your stuff here, the builder won’t touch this area (between the floor in cobble / stone / concrete and the dome in glass).

HOW TO PLACE A BUILDING?

Some building are designed to be near the water surface : they have air blocks at the top (image 1)
Building with solid placeholder at the bottom have to be placed on the ocean floor (or you have to make a lot of terraforming) (image 2)
As usual light placeholder let you choose to place this part on the floor or above surface (image 3)
And, of course some building (like the Enchanter’s tower) must be place on the ocean floor but with the top above the surface (image 4)

THE CORRIDORS (CONCRETE OR GLASS)

The corridors and intersections are the lungs of your colony. You can choose to have a concrete corridor or glass corridor. When you construct your passages they have to be stuck side by side and not overlap. We highly recommend putting some branches between your buildings to avoid being stuck due to a few buildings being dead-ends.
You can also find a commercial cross in the decoration menu, you can use it to join the flower shop, dyer and fletcher (image below). These buildings are designed to make a commercial center, but it’s not an obligation to make them like this.

THE HUSBANDRY

Animal husbandry huts need a pasture (in infrastructures/fields) for the animals. Each pasture could connect to two animal husbandry huts. A scaffolding tunnel links the hut to the pasture.

THE UNIVERSITY

The University is designed to be adjacent to the Library and the School. The decoration “university_placement” found in the “Education” folder will help you to correctly place them.

THE KELP IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!

You have to remove Kelp from below the building before built begin or your builder will be unable to remove waters. And remember that kelp grow fast!

FAQ

  • How I can place my supplyship on an ocean? You have to place it on a solid block, so you can easily use a lily-pad and place your supplyship on it.

  • My builders won’t stop to move between buildings during the constructions To prevent your builders from taking too long to build by moving with each block placed, you can immobilize them by blocking their return path.

  • I find my builders at the surface and they don't want to come back-down. What should I do? Don't panic, if your builders find an exit he will go at the surface on the top of the buildings in construction. You just have to recall them when they are above their own builder's hut else they will teleport outside again. (If you can find the unwanted exit, please report it to us)

  • I need a lot of cobblestone to build my first level but my basements are filled with water, how should I do? Yes Ocean are deep and full of water cave so you have less cobblestone to mine. So we thought about it and make a cobblestone generator which take 1 builder at full time and make some cobble for you

  • The level 1 building is full of sand. Do I let it? The sand in level 1 is useful only for builders to remove water. So, you can remove it after the builder has finished building the level 1. The builder will remove it in any case at level 2. You have to dig a path for the workers to access the hut’s block.

  • I find my builder slow, can I use the other build modes? No, the buildings are not intended for other ways of construction. By changing the building mode you risk ending up with inundations inside your buildings.

  • My builder ask me an item i cannot craft (Meshes, Cake Batter…) Some Building's upgrade like University or the Restaurant will ask you for some items not craftable by the player. You will need to build the worker's hut which can craft these items.

  • My miner refuses to mine Since your mine is built at lower height than usual you have to upgrade it before your miner start to mine

  • My first citizens drown when i create my colony You have to dry out the water into the ruined town hall before creating your colony

  • Builders teleport themselves on surface when I build the first level of the townhall It's a know issue : you have to break the bottom of the ladder before you begin the build.
